About me..

WHO AM I?

I answer to many names.  To my sweetheart of 18 years, I am Baby. My two little K's call me Momma.  I am Becky to family and friends,
but some of my Okie friends call me Abecka.  My niece used to call me
Aunt DooDoo and a friend's daughter called me Becky Baldhead.  The
government calls me Rebecca because my daddy told them to.  But
more importantly, God calls me His, chosen for Himself before the
foundation of the world.  For all these names I am thoroughly
thankful, for they declare I am loved and living.

MY ROOTS...

The youngest of 4 girls born to Roy and Linda Owen, I grew up on a
farm in SW Missouri.  I was never much up for change:  lived in the
same house until I got married, went to the same small school
grades K-12, same church, same everything...everything was fairly
constant.  One thing I've always been doing is singing.  When I was
little, most of the time it happened to be with my sisters at
church (they called us the 'Owen Girls') or in the choir.
I'm thankful that I learned to sing to the Lord at an early age.

GROWING UP...

It was during my teen years that I began learning to play the piano.  My youth pastor Kevin Reich showed me a few chords and gave me this tested and true instruction:  PRAY AND PLAY.  So that's what I did and I learned the Holy Spirit is the best teacher there is.  It was in our youth services that I truly started to experience an atmosphere of praise and worship, the almost tangible presence of God.  It was also in one of those youth services that I met Micah Baldwin--first time I met him he was preaching.  He swept me off my feet and we were married in June of 1996.  This was the beginning of the c-word (that would be change) in my life.  We moved to another town, another church, new jobs for both of us--absolutely everything was different. God was really birthing a new hunger in our hearts...one that wasn't satisfied with the usual and wouldn't settle for normal...

BRANCHING OUT...

God gave me a couple songs in my teen years but this dynamic of my life really activated in 1999, when my husband and I met our future pastors, Rocky and Cathy Walker.  God directed us to move to Oklahoma; we followed that direction as God yoked us to them and their ministry in Pauls Valley.  The constant atmosphere of praise and worship, prophetic declaration and present truth permeated our very beings to the core. We were literally changed from the inside out, constantly experiencing Greater Dimensions in God.

DEEPER ROOTS...

Our stay in Oklahoma lasted just over 7 years.  At the beginning of 2007, God moved us back to our home state of Missouri.  He placed us in the body of Covenant World Outreach in Carthage.  Our pastors at CWO, James and Renee' Perkins, were our pastors back in 1999 who connected us to the Walkers.  This Covenant family has captured our hearts and we are going forward together into new realms of glory.  I am blessed to be part of an awesome worship team at CWO and several songs have been birthed here.

THE PLANTING OF THE LORD...

In our hearts Micah and I had long believed we'd end up in NW Arkansas and in the fall of 2012 God transplanted to Bella Vista.  Work & school have us in Bentonville M-F but CWO is still our home church.  Micah is still preaching and speaking life every chance he gets, whether it's from a pulpit, on his job everyday or simple moments with our family.  Our children are growing in grace and favor; it's truly amazing to watch them develop into the unique creations God made them to be. In all our growth, we've learned that ministry is the outflow of the indwelling Christ and the Kingdom of God is truly relational.

So that's me in a nutshell:

daughter; sister; wife; momma; friend;
loved by, lover of and worshiper of God.
